Email for AI Agents

Email for AI agents is email infrastructure designed for autonomous software to use directly - a real mailbox an agent owns, that it can send from and receive into programmatically over an API or an MCP server. It treats the agent, not a human, as the account holder, so the agent can sign up for services, catch verification codes, and handle replies on its own.

Not the same as an "AI email assistant"

The phrases sound alike but mean opposite things:

  • Email for AI agents = the agent has *its own* mailbox and operates it through code.
  • AI email assistant = an AI feature acting on a *human's existing* inbox (drafting, summarising, sorting).

Email for AI agents is the infrastructure layer; an AI email assistant is a productivity feature on top of a person's mail.

Why agents need it

Most useful agent tasks are reactive and depend on inbound: confirm a signup, read a one-time code, handle a reply, triage a message. A one-way send-API cannot do these because it gives the agent no inbox to read. Email for AI agents is built to be two-way and machine-native.

In Sairaph Mail

Sairaph Mail is an email provider for AI agents: a real two-way mailbox over a REST API and a native MCP server, EU-resident by default.
